With Queensland’s new Energy Plan set to be unveiled just two days later, the state’s resource sector will get an early glimpse of what lies ahead at an industry event in Gladstone next week.
Held on the 8th of October, the Connecting Industry Luncheon will feature the Hon. Dale Last MP, Queensland’s Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, who will address coal royalties, the government’s vision for the resources sector and the critical role mining will play in the state’s economic transition.
Joining him is James Marsh, CEO of Queensland-based mineral processing company Zeotech Limited, who will showcase the company’s Toondoon Kaolin Project and its breakthrough low-carbon concrete solution, which is positioned to reshape construction supply chains both locally and globally.
Together, the two keynote speakers will provide a rare combination of government policy insights and project-level procurement opportunities, at a time when Queensland’s resources and energy industries are under intense public, political and economic scrutiny.
Director of Connecting Industry Kieran Moran said having Minister Last speak just days before the Government releases its Energy Plan makes this luncheon a timely and important event.
“It’s a chance for industry to hear directly how policy decisions on mining and energy will affect their businesses,” Mr Moran said.
“With projects like Zeotech’s Toondoon Kaolin Project moving closer to reality and set for construction in 2026, there are significant procurement opportunities emerging for our supply chains. This luncheon gives businesses a seat at the table to understand where those opportunities are and how to be part of Queensland’s future economy.”
The Connecting Industry Luncheon will be held at the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre, drawing senior leaders from across the resources, energy, construction and supply sectors. A live Q&A session will follow the presentations.
