ConocoPhillips Australia will highlight two major projects – the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) facility and upcoming exploration in the Otway Basin – at the Connecting Industry Luncheon on June 4 in Gladstone.
As operator of the APLNG facility on Curtis Island, ConocoPhillips manages Australia’s largest natural gas producer, supplying around 30% of the east coast market while also exporting LNG globally. With over 1,000 cargoes shipped, the project is a major driver of regional economic activity and energy reliability.
The company is also set to begin drilling in the Otway Basin off Victoria after receiving environmental approval. The program will explore up to six wells between 2025 and 2028, with the goal of securing new domestic gas supply.
APLNG Facility Manager Brad Cordingley will provide an update on operations, upcoming maintenance, and ESG commitments. He’ll be joined by Keld Knudsen, Queensland Director of Australian Energy Producers, who will discuss the economic and policy outlook for gas development in Queensland.
